Brief Description
Euroactive Bulgaria is a newly established organisation that aims to empower young people, by promoting and implementing both international, national and local projects. Our organisation has roots as an informal group with the same name. Our commitment lies in supporting the development of young individuals and their active participation in society. The informal group ‘ s primary activity was to act as a sending organisation in youth exchanges and training courses ” . We’ve decided to make another step forward, creating our own projects and helping our communities, through the tools the Erasmus+ program provides us. Promote their growth and learning, advocating and protecting the planet, we are excited about the potential positive impact Euroactive Bulgaria can have on the youth community in Bulgaria and beyond.
Activities And Experience in Areas Relevant for This Application
The organisation has two youth exchange realised called “Trends and Personalities: Escape the social expectations ” and “Mindful Creations: Art as a voice for mental health”. The organization has successfully realized two youth exchange projects: “Trends and Personalities: Escape the Social Expectations” and “Mindful Creations: Art as a Voice for Mental Health.”
The “Trends and Personalities” project aimed to create a safe space for authentic self-expression while addressing the mental health impacts of societal conformity. Participants explored aesthetics and the romanticization of mental health, with inspiration from Heidegger’s concept of ‘Das Man,’ which challenges conformity and stereotypes. Activities included in-depth discussions on identity and societal pressures, creative branding tasks addressing societal and environmental concerns, simulation exercises, collaborative presentations, and a museum tour exploring the evolution of identity. The project involved 36 participants aged 18-25, half of whom faced geographical, economic, or social barriers. The methodology centered on non-formal learning methods, including role-plays, debates, and interactive group activities, to ensure an inclusive and engaging experience. The “Mindful Creations” project focused on deconstructing the romanticization of mental health through art, fostering authentic self-expression, and encouraging open dialogue on creativity and mental health. The project also incorporated Kant’s concept of the sublime to critically examine the glorification of mental health struggles in media and art. Activities included deep discussions on the romanticization of mental illnesses, creative brand design exercises, simulation tasks, debates, and a museum tour to reflect on identity and cultural values. Like the previous project, it gathered 36 participants, with an emphasis on NEET youth and those from vulnerable backgrounds. Non-formal methods were employed, ensuring accessibility and fostering cross-cultural understanding. These projects demonstrate the organization’s commitment to addressing critical societal issues, promoting inclusivity, and empowering young people through innovative, non-formal educational approaches.
